Julie Elise Landry writes and edits things—poems, grants, novels, press releases. Her Master of Arts in English from the University of Louisiana at Monroe launched her career as a writer, editor, tutor, teacher, reporter, and communications professional. Currently, she serves as a research administrator at Tulane University, and she is seeking an MFA in poetry from the University of New Orleans.
Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in publications such as A-minor Magazine, Backchannels Journal, diode poetry journal, Hearth & Coffin Literary Journal, HOOT Review, Midway Journal, The Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle, Trampoline, Vassar Review, Aftermath, USA Today, BayouLife Magazine, and The Write Life. In 2023, she received an Honorable Mention for UNO’s Vassar Miller Poetry Award. In 2025, she was named a finalist in the LMNL Arts Patty Friedmann Writing Contest associated with the Words & Music literary festival hosted by One Book One New Orleans. She currently serves as an Associate Poetry Editor for Bayou Magazine and as the emcee for Silver Room, UNO's online reading series. She and her husband Paul live in New Orleans, where Julie grew up. She enjoys watching D&D, musicals, video essays, and horror movies. |
